In an unexpected dev blog video released by Riot Games on Wednesday, the Teamfight Tactics teams officially revealed details on what is coming to the TFT: Gizmos and Gadgets mid-set update. TFT: Neon Nights is the official theme of the Set 6.5 update and will feature over 20 champion swaps, making it one of the biggest in the game’s history. Unlike TFT: Reckoning, the core mechanic of Hextech Augments will be staying. Here is everything we know about TFT: Neon Nights so far.

    New traits

In TFT: Neon Nights, the dev blog update mentioned that Imperial and Academy are going away and being replaced by Debonair and Hextech.

The Hextech trait causes the Hextech Core that players can see on the sides of the board to pulse with radiant energy every couple of seconds the will seemingly damage enemies if they are in the radius. The radius appears to be two hexes in diameter.

The other new trait revealed in the dev blog update is Debonair. The team did not show off any in-game Debonair footage. Instead, the video stated that the Debonair trait brings in the “Good, the bad and the bougie” while also saying that the trait “utilizes futuristic concoctions, beauty and swagger to stay topped off and popping off.”

    New champions

With over 20 new additions coming to TFT: Neon Nights, some champions will be going away, some will stay and some will be brand new. The video stated that Alistar makes his TFT debut in the mid-set expansion as a Hextech champion. During the gameplay reveal, some more Hextech champions were introduced. The trait appears to be the vertical one that will be replacing Academy. The known Hextech champions that will be joining alongside Alistar are Lucian, Nocturne, Sejuani and Jarvan IV.

Brand and Draven return as Debonair champions. Also, an Academy champion is staying as a Debonair champion instead. Leona will not be leaving in the mid-set update.

Outside of those, there are a few champions that have unknown traits and origins. Silco, TFT’s first exclusive champion will be making his debut in TFT: Neon Nights. On top of that, returning to TFT in 6.5 are Sivir, Gnar, Rek’Sai and Kha’Zix.
